1. Overview

Welcome to SkinCast ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency regarding how our application handles information. SkinCast is an AI-assisted cosmetic and skincare recommendation application designed to help users evaluate skin conditions and receive weather-adapted skincare suggestions.

We believe in privacy by design: all facial scanning and cosmetic matching computations are performed 100% on your device.

2. Facial Data Collection & On-Device Processing Policy 100% On-Device

In accordance with Apple App Store Review Guidelines 2.1, 5.1.1(i), and 5.1.2(i), this section provides clear and complete disclosures regarding how face data is processed:

Summary of Face Data Practices:

• Collection: Temporary 2D facial landmark points (via Google MediaPipe WebAssembly running locally) for region-specific skin tone/texture analysis.

• Storage & Retention: Zero retention. Face images and facial landmark coordinates exist in volatile device memory (RAM) only during the active scan computation and are immediately and permanently discarded once the cosmetic score is produced.

• Third-Party Sharing: None (0%). Face data is NEVER uploaded to external servers, cloud databases, or shared with any third-party AI services.

• Biometric Identification: We do NOT create biometric profiles, track identities, or use face data for authentication or surveillance.

A. What Specific Face Data Does the App Process?

When you grant Camera permission and initiate a skin scan, the app accesses the camera frame locally to detect 478 facial landmark coordinates (T-zone, U-zone, cheek contours) and calculate basic cosmetic attributes: hydration level, pore distribution, redness, and wrinkle score.

B. Purpose of Processing Face Data

Face data is processed solely for the functional purpose of providing personalized skincare ingredient advice and routine recommendations. It is never used for advertising, marketing, tracking, user profiling, or biometric identification.

C. Storage Location & Retention Duration

• Location: Local volatile RAM of the user's physical device only.

• Duration: 0 seconds post-analysis. The image frame and calculated landmarks are purged immediately upon generation of the numerical report score.

D. Third-Party Sharing and AI Services

SkinCast does NOT transmit, share, or sell face data to any third party or cloud-based AI service (e.g., OpenAI, Google Gemini Cloud). All AI vision models operate exclusively inside the on-device WebAssembly environment.

3. Other Information We Collect

Location Data (Coarse / When in Use): Used solely in real-time to fetch local temperature, UV index, and humidity from weather APIs. Location coordinates are not stored on our servers.
Account Information (Optional): If you choose to create an account via Email, Google, or Apple Sign-In, we store your email address and display name securely on Supabase to sync your saved skincare preferences.
Saved Diagnostic Reports (Local): Diagnostic scores and ingredient notes you choose to save are stored in your device's local storage (`localStorage`).

4. Third-Party Integrations & External Links

SkinCast integrates with the following services strictly for functionality:

Supabase: Secure cloud authentication and cosmetic ingredient reference database.
OpenWeatherMap API: Live weather and UV index data.
Olive Young Global / Amazon: External product purchase links. When tapped, these open in your browser; no personal data or face data is passed to retailer websites.

5. User Rights & Data Deletion

You have full control over your data at all times:

Clear All Diagnosis History: You can delete all past diagnosis scores directly within the app profile settings.
Account & Data Deletion (Withdrawal): You can permanently delete your account and all associated profile information at any time by tapping "Delete Account (Erase all data)" in the app. All user records on Supabase and local storage are deleted immediately and irreversibly.

6. Non-Medical Disclaimer

SkinCast is NOT a medical device and does NOT offer medical diagnosis, dermatological treatment, or clinical advice. All analysis scores and ingredient suggestions are for cosmetic and beauty reference purposes only. Always consult a certified dermatologist for clinical skin conditions.
